Our Mission

We believe learning sticks best when children see themselves in it. Our mission is to enhance learning by infusing English Caribbean culture into every resource we make — so a chart, a worksheet, or a game isn’t just teaching a skill, it’s teaching it in a voice, a landscape, and a set of references that feel like home.

That mission hasn’t changed since 2010. What’s changed is how far we’ve been able to take it.

How We’ve Evolved

From one chart to a full learning ecosystem.

• 2010 — Charts. We started with printed classroom charts and posters, built to Trinidad & Tobago’s curriculum and mapped to US grade equivalents, because teachers on both sides needed resources that actually matched what they were teaching.
• Digital Products. As classrooms went digital, so did we — QR-linked learning hubs, downloadable worksheets, and standards-aligned practice tests that extend a single chart into a full topic of study.
• Games. Most recently, we’ve moved into interactive games — because some concepts (place value, coordinate planes, story structure) click faster when a child is playing, not just reading.

Same mission. Three formats. One throughline: culturally grounded, curriculum-accurate, and built for the way kids actually learn.

What Makes Us Different

Content you won’t find anywhere else.

Most educational resource sites are built for a US or UK classroom first, with “diverse” content bolted on after. We build the other way around:

• Cultural representation as the starting point, not an add-on. Our Caribbean history, geography, and civic content — presidents, prime ministers, maps of T&T — exists because no one else was making it, not as a multicultural supplement to someone else’s catalog.
• Content built for students with special needs. Resources like our IDEA Disability Categories chart and progress-tracking tools exist because special education classrooms need materials that name and explain, clearly, what mainstream resources often skip over.
• Different modalities, on purpose. The same concept shows up as a printed chart for a wall, a digital hub for independent review, and a game with audio, sound effects, and a Spanish-language option — because a child who doesn’t learn well from a worksheet might learn it in five minutes through play.

This is the cognitive part of what we do: we don’t just translate content into “Caribbean-themed” versions of existing resources. We design for how a specific child, with specific needs, in a specific classroom, actually absorbs information — and then we build the format that fits.

Why “Studee Monkey”?

We started as Studee Aid in 2010. The name changed when our founder learned, on a hike through Chaguaramas, that Trinidad is home to two native monkeys — the red howler and a subspecies of white-fronted capuchin found nowhere else on Earth, now critically endangered. It felt like the right symbol for a business built to protect something specifically ours.
